OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE SKILL-BASED EDUCATION FOR 10,000 YOUTHS – NEW BREED

A foremost socio-political group, the New Breed for Sustainable Development has stated that its ongoing Training of 10,000 youths is in line with its mission to promote skill-based education and entrepreneurship across the State.
The spokesman for the Entrepreneurship training, Mr. Ukeme Nyah stated this in Uyo today during a Press Conference at the group State Secretariat, as part of activities to mark the commencement of the Training.
Nyah said the free entrepreneurship training aside from promoting skill-based education is a direct response to the bleak economic outlook of our present world with regards to the surging rate of unemployment adding that the exercise which is in batches will accommodate a total of 10,000 youths in various skills including; photography, videography, catering, Make-over, Leatherworks, ICT, fashion design and Agriculture, etc.
Earlier, the International Co-ordinator of the group, Engr. Ekpenyong Ekpenyong said the white-collar jobs are no longer fashionable in today’s Nigeria and that the purpose of the training was to change the narrative and instill the consciousness in the minds of young people that they can earn a decent living outside politics.
“I am worried that in Akwa Ibom everyone seems to focus on politics and we want to change the narrative. The training is done in phases and we hope to move to all the Local Government Areas,” he said.
On his part, the group Media Consultant, Mr. Edwin Ebiese noted that the aim of the skills training is to awaken the spirit of enterprise among youths irrespective of political affiliation in line with the Dakkada philosophy of Governor Emmanuel’s administration.
